Total Maximum Daily Loads

Section 303(d) of the Federal Clean Drinking Water Act, more commonly known as the Clean Water Act, requires that states, in administering the Clean Water Act, establish total maximum daily load limits in waterbodies, including streams and lakes, in order to effectively regulate unidentifiable, nonpoint sources of pollution. This section is created to educate the public regarding the federal law and state administration of the Clean Water Act in regards to Mission Lake.
