Commissioner of Parks & Recreation Appointed; Al Barton to Assume Position Immediately.

Horton, KS After the October 1, 2012, resignation of
Steve Daviesn, Commissioner of Parks & Recreation, the Horton
City Commission met on Thursday, October 11, 2012, to interview
candidates to fill the vacancy within the prescribed 10-day period
required by Horton City Code 1-208. At the special meeting on
Thursday, October 11 the Commission voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Al
Barton.
Mr. Barton is a lifetime resident of the City of Horton and a
longtime business owner in the City. Mr. Barton's love of his
hometown will no doubt be an invaluable asset for the Horton City
Commission. The oath of office was administered to Mr. Barton at
the October 15, 2012 regular Commission meeting.
